RCOT Specialist Section Oncology and Palliative Care Engagement Session

Palliative Rehabilitation

Friday, 17th November 2017

Royal College of Occupational Therapy, 106-114 Borough High Street, London SE1 1LB

16:00 - 18:00

RCOT Specialist Section for Oncology and Palliative Care are hosting an engagement session to explore the roles of specialist and generalist occupational therapists when working with palliative patients.

This session is open to occupational therapists working within specialist palliative or oncology services, as well as those who are working with generic settings.

In these sessions, we will explore:

  • What is palliative care and palliative rehabilitation?
  • What political and national drivers are there, that are influencing palliative care and rehabilitation?
  • Whose responsibility is palliative care / occupational palliative rehabilitation?
  • What skills do Occupational Therapists have, to meet the needs of these patient groups?
  • When (if at all) would Occupational Therapists refer on to a specialist Occupational Therapist in Palliative Care?
  • What training have Occupational Therapists had in palliative care and complex symptom management?

This event is open to RCOT members only, free of charge. OPC membership is not required to attend this event (but we very much encourage you to join up!)
