Panel Discussion: The Challenges of Reflecting a new Africa
In October 2009, Orange Prize winning author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie gave one of Ted Global’s most celebrated talks titled, “The Danger of a Single Story”. Adichie warned that “if we hear only a single story about another person or country, we risk a critical misunderstanding”. Five years on, we explore whether mainstream media have heeded her message. Our panel is made up of leading journalists and commentators who are celebrated exponents of breaking the single story.
