Event description

Description

What does it mean to be a responsible employer in a purpose-led business? What do employers in organisations fit for the 21st century look like?

Join us for this interactive discussion, the first in our ‘Principles of Purpose’ event series. Drawing on our panelists’ experiences, we aim to stimulate a discussion about how businesses and individuals can best address both the challenges and opportunities of being an employer in a purpose-led business.

Chaired by Andrew Hill, Management Editor of the FT, panelists include Kate Glazebrook, CEO and co-founder of Applied, the Behavioural Insights Team’s first tech venture, Maaike de Bie, General Counsel of Royal Mail, and Jason Stockwood, Simply Business Group CEO, previously MD of Match.com.

  • Kate will share how the algorithmic design revolution is transforming hiring practices, talking in practical terms she will address the role of data scientists in HR and the value of better measurement and experimentation on talent management.
  • Maaike will discuss how she restructured her team at Royal Mail, increasing its capacity and capabilities, to transform the legal department from a demand-led advisory function into an agile and strategic business partner.
  • Jason will address the very real challenge AI presents for the future of jobs, offering his own experience of how organisations can manage against the potential obsolescence of their staff by thinking about their future now.
