Win Careers Week is delighted to invite you to an interactive panel discussion with Karen Frank, CEO Private Bank and Overseas Services, Dan Roberts, Head of Transaction Banking Products & Services, and Julian Davies, Head of Strategy and Integration

The event, compèred by Caroline Graham, aims to be an informal and interactive dialogue with Karen, Dan and Julian to provide the audience with an insight to their career journeys. In keeping with the three key pillars of Careers Week, the session will provide an opportunity to hear firsthand the steps they have each taken to develop key skills, how they have maximized their potential throughout their career and how they have navigated changing paths.

Karen Frank, CEO, Private Bank and Overseas Services
Karen is CEO of the Private Bank & Overseas Services business, based in London, and a member of the Barclays International Executive Committee. Karen joined Barclays in 2012 as a Managing Director in the Financial Sponsors Group (FSG) and was appointed Co-Head of FSG for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2013. She was a member of the Banking Operating Committee, EMEA and Global Diversity Council. She assumed her current role leading the PB&OS business in October 2016.

Karen started her career in private equity in 1992, working in Goldman Sachs’ Principal Investment Area in New York and London, and continued working in private equity with AEA Investors and Compass Partners International. In 2005, Karen was asked to join Goldman Sachs’ Investment Bank to build the firm’s middle market Financial Sponsors business. She earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Economics. She has lived in London for nearly 20 years.

Dan Roberts, Head of Transaction Banking Products & Services
Dan Roberts is Managing Director, Transaction Banking Products & Services, based in London. His product responsibilities cover payments, digital channels, liquidity products, FX, trade finance and working capital. Dan is a member of Corporate Banking Executive Committee. He is also a board director of Barclays Financial Investments Ltd. Dan joined Barclays in 1996 as part of the graduate programme. Prior to being appointed into this role in November 2016 he was Head of Capital & Liquidity Management for Corporate Banking. Previously, Dan has held roles including Head of Trade & Working Capital, Head of Debt Finance, Head of Structured Finance Credit and various other corporate banking roles in risk, coverage, product, and tech/change.

He holds a first class honours degree in maths from the University of Oxford and an MBA with High Honors from the University of Chicago. Outside work, Dan tries to spend as much time as possible with his family or keeping fit. You can usually find him running along the coast path near Rye at weekends.

Julian Davies, Head of Strategy and Integration
Julian is accountable for the execution of the management process and strategy while also undertaking the role of accountable executive for the Ring Fence Bank under the Structural Reform Programme.

Julian has been with Barclays for 12 years, joining in October 2004, during this period he has held leadership positions in Retail and Business Banking, Barclays Africa, Emerging Markets and the Corporate Bank.

Earlier in his career Julian worked for KPMG Consulting where he led cross functional teams specialising in M&A integration. His first role was as a management trainee with Nationwide Building Society. Julian graduated with a BA (Hons) from the University of Nottingham in 1993. Julian is married with two children and lives in the Kent countryside where he enjoys spending time with his family and his dogs, pigs and chickens.
