Description

End of Project Conference – Healthy Ageing: Next Generation of Challenges

What is the conference about?

Over the past four years the Physical Activity and Nutrition INfluences In ageing (PANINI network) has worked hard to achieve the European Commission Horizon 2020 funded Marie-Curie Innovative Training Network goals and create a legacy for the students and the public to learn more about how to age well.

The demands of healthy ageing are ever-changing and will need to be life-long and personalised, supported by behavioural, societal and economic changes. In this conference, we will showcase our research and consider questions about the ‘next generation’ of issues that researchers and health professionals can explore ready for the future challenge of ageing populations.

This conference has been co-designed by older adults who will be showcasing their health challenges.

Keynote speakers include Professor Laura Fratiglioni (University of Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden), and Professor Richard Faragher (University of Brighton) as well as our own PANINI Early Stage Researchers. We are currently finalising the event programme and it will be published shortly.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. The event will end at 5pm with lots of opportunity to network with researchers, older people and professionals, including a poster session by early career researchers until 7pm.

Who is the conference for?
Older adults, academic and professional staff with an interest in and responsibility for innovation in healthy ageing through nutrition and physical activity.

So please join us to find out what we have achieved, hear about the next phase in healthy ageing research and how the data we gathered can really be used to make a difference!

Please feel free to forward this announcement to relevant colleagues or email k.bhartti@bham.ac.uk if you have any questions.
