Event description

Description

Hear the story of the radical Manchester family who catapulted the fight for women’s suffrage to the top of the public and political agenda more than a century ago.

We will meet in Manchester city centre and see some of the places they knew and where they made their impact. Then we will travel by bus to the Pankhurst Centre, their home at Nelson Street. We will see the place where the fight for women's suffrage became militant where the motto "Deeds not Words" was born. Tea and biscuits will be served.

Were the Pankhursts valiant role models or manipulative troublemakers? There are two sides to every story.
