Description
A walk led by Ken Cockburn, reading poems by Christine De Luca about works by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi (1924–2005).
The poems are taken from Paolozzi at Large in Edinburgh, edited by Christine De Luca and Carlo Pirozzi (Luath, 2018), the first book to look at the artist in his home city. It is part of the Eduardo Paolozzi Project created and developed by Carlo Pirozzi (University of Edinburgh).
The 'South and East' route takes in three groups of sculptures: ‘Egeria and Parthenope’ at King’s Buildings, ‘Early Peoples’ at the Museum of Scotland, and ‘The Manuscript of Monte Cassino’, originally sited at Picardy Place and now temporarily re-located at London Road.
This walk has been developed with the help of funding from the Eduardo Paolozzi Project with the support of Edinburgh World Heritage.
Meet outside The Noreen and Kenneth Murray Library, King’s Buildings, University of Edinburgh (off Mayfield Road / West Mains Road). Walk ends at Hillside Crescent, off London Road.
NB We will travel by public transport from King's Buildings into the city centre, and you will need to obtain your own ticket.
