This weekend all-day workshop will introduce you to the basics of paper marbling. Participants will leave the day with the knowledge of how to prepare and create a variety of traditional marbled patterns onto paper, and cloth.

Traditional paper marbling uses Carrageenan (a specific dried seaweed) to create a "size". droplets of specific paint are then put onto it in specific orders and styles to create certain patterns. Throughout the workshop we will be making paints, learning how to create the basic patterns, Turkish stone, Italian shell, Gelgit and Zebra patterns. The morning will consist of demonstrations, specific patterns and mixing of certain paints. The afternoon youll be allowed free play on the sizes and experiment to your hearts desire.

Your finished sheets of marbled paper will then be posted or available collect (as they will need a day or two to dry!)

Marbling is a messy process so please wear appropriate warm clothing.

Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available Lunch will be provided in the range of vegetarian sandwiches, pastries, salad and a few other bits and bobs. If you have any allergies and are worried about the food please let us know and we will try our best to accommodate you. Tea, coffee, biscuits and pastries will be available throughout the day as well. We have a large kitchen space for you to use to prepare anything you bring with you or you can pop two doors down to Three legs Brewery taproom for food and drink.
