Join us at the Paper Peony Flower Workshop!
Come down to Light Space Leeds in Meanwood for a fun and creative event at Meanwood Market. Learn how to craft beautiful paper peonies with Olivia Joy Flowers. Bring a friend and make a day of it with plenty of market stalls to browse after.
In this workshop you’ll be handcrafting the “Bowl of Beauty” peony variety with striking pink petals and fluffy cream center. This workshop is suited for anyone new to paper flowers, teaching you foundational techniques for working with crepe paper. You’ll be guided each step of the way how to transform a piece of paper into a beautiful bloom that will never wilt.
You’ll be given a pack with all the templates and materials you need to create your flower. Following Olivia’s live demonstration, you will be taken through each stage of her process, cutting, shaping and assembling, to create a high quality and long-lasting flower. She will also be offering hands-on guidance and tips for maximizing botanical realism throughout. For added inspiration, there will be example paper peonies on hand to study and assist in your making, and images to illustrate some of the details up close.
A booklet is included in your pack with assisting photos and written instructions.* This will help refresh your memory should you wish to continue making paper peonies at home.
No experience necessary, some dexterity required. Recommended age 18+

Olivia is a local artist who creates life-like paper flowers. She is inspired by the beauty of the natural world around us and aims to capture that sense of awe in her floral creations. She is self taught with over 9 years of expertise. She creates arrangements for weddings, gifts and home decor, with a keen interest in botanical realism.
