PAPER PLAY: Geometric paper folding
Overview
Make Club presents a series of creative classes led by Hackney artists, designers and makers. Each project is a 2-part course. Ticket price includes both sessions.
Join Cristina Ottonello, and Make Club’s artist Emily Tracy, to learn paper folding techniques to create geometric shape and three-dimensional form. Experiment with combining paper folding, creasing crumpling, cutting and mark-making paired with light, to make your own lit mini paper sculptures. Take home your creations to hang or display as table top paper sculptures.
The first session you will learn some techniques and experiment with paper and its limits. We will also create free form mark making to make a bank of papers to use for construction.
The second session we will practise and master the techniques to produce a finished artwork. We will bring along some lighting options to experiment with how forms change when lit.
Cristina Ottonello is an artist creating participatory projects and artworks in the public realm. She works with fabric and paper to create lit sculpture for festivals and public spaces.
Sessions take place in the inspiring Dalston Curve Garden in their indoor making space.
