We will meet outside the Lakeside Centre, Lakeside Country Park, Wide Lane. https://w3w.co/extend.gift.ages

Getting there:

By bus - The nearest bus stop is on Wide Road just by the entrance, served by 24 Bluestar 24 Timetable. Alternatively the U1A stops at Southampton Airport Parkway U1A Bluestar Timetable.

By train - The nearest stop is Southampton Airport Parkway station - a five minute walk from the Park entrance. Turn right on leaving the station, cross the main road on the pelican crossing and head towards Eastleigh. The entrance is ¼ mile on your left.

By foot - Approximately 20 minutes walk from Eastleigh Town Centre. You can access the park from public footpaths off Stoneham Lane, and Monks Way and via Ambassador Walk from Wide Lane.

By bike -

  • From Eastleigh Town Centre; travel south along Desborough Road and Arnold Road where you will join Ambassador Walk, turn left and then right onto Wide Lane shared use path. Travel 250m and turn onto Doncaster Drove, were you will find the entrace to the Country Park.
  • From Chandlers Ford; Join the shared use path on Chestnut Avenue, turn right at the roundabout and travel south along stoneham Lane. Once you pass the Concorde Club turn left over the ford.

Parking - free all day on weekends and for four hours during the week. The SatNav postcode SO50 5PE brings you to the main entrance.

Please wear suitable walking shoes and bring along:

  • a bottle of water
  • money or card if you'd like to join us at the cafe
  • an umbrella, waterproofs or sunhat/suncream (depending on the weather)

Please Note:

Walk grade: Easy and accessible for all.

Who should attend: Adults and children. Sorry pets are not allowed to join a led walk unless they are a guide or assistance dog.

Child friendly: Yes, children under 18 attending any of the activities must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Walk distance: 1.6 km

Facilities: There are toilets at Lakeside cafe.

Access: The route is on flat level gravel within the park. Mostly flat with some minor slopes. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the walk organiser.
