Meeting: Managing Fluke, Worm and Parasite Challenges in Sheep and Cattle
Sheep and Cattle face a wide range of internal and external parasites - including live fluke, mites, lies, ticks and roundworms - that can damage animal health, lower productivity and drive up costs. Added to this, climate change and increasing resistance to treatments are making effective parasite control more difficult.
Join us for a farm walk at Lochdhu Farm, by kind permission of the Forbes Family, where we will discuss parasite challenges and look at stock in a practical setting. Lunch will be provided, and an afternoon session and workshop with Captiva Mills, SAC covering the following:
🦠Liver Fluke and Control - timing treatments, choosing effective products and practical control methods
🧪Selecting the right treatments - understanding wormer options and when to use them
🧬Parasite resistance - how it develops and what you can do to slow it down
🐜Scab and other threats - Signs to watch for and prevention strategies
Lunch and refreshments are included, so please book you place in advance.
This event is open to everyone who keeps sheep or cattle - all welcome!
