About this event
Please note that bookings for this Workshop will close on Wednesday 10th September at 11.30pm
At Talk Well, we understand the important role you, as parents and caregivers, play in enhancing your children's mental well-being. However, parenting can also be hard, especially if your child is unhappy or you are worried about them.
Our free Parent and Carer Workshops are held at various locations across Gloucestershire and via Zoom, for parents or carers of young people aged 11-18 in Gloucestershire facing mental health, emotional well-being and behavioural issues. Developed by Talk Well, our workshops are designed to inform and support parents and carers, helping you to understand your child’s distress and find effective strategies to build resilience. The workshops are also a chance for parents and carers going through similar experiences to encourage, support and learn from each other in a safe and friendly environment.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- These workshops meet weekly for four weeks, with an optional fifth week, and last 1.5 hours – they are held on the same day and time each week. We would encourage you to commit to the first 4 sessions for the best results. The fifth session is optional. Spaces are limited and booking is essential.
- Unfortunately, if you miss the first session you’ll be unable to continue with the group due to confidentiality reasons. However, we would encourage you to re-book onto the next available group.
- We can accommodate only one parent or carer from each family in each workshop.
- Each workshop will be led by facilitators who are experts in parenting and young people’s mental health.
- Proir to the first workshop starting, we will email you with information regarding it. Please note that this email may go to your junk or spam mailbox.
- Please note that the workshops focus on neurotypical young people. While they may not fully address neurodiverse needs, there are still valuable insights to gain.
- Talk Well strives to make workshop sessions inclusive to all, regardless of gender identity, race, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, income and abilities. Let us know your requirements in the booking form and we'll do our best to accomodate them.
