A Parent Connect Circle is a mutual parent support group, facilitated by mental health professionals, in which parents have opportunities to discuss parenting challenges and everyday life difficulties regarding their relationship with their children and  share strategies to cope with that.

Parenting is one of the hardest and most important jobs anyone can do.  At every developmental stage, parents might experience more challenges, more questions and difficult choices. In a nonjudgmental environment, the group aims to make parents feel that they are not alone, guided by mental health

Each session will use a combination of education and creative exploration and sharing.

Clinical practice and evidence-based data show that this combination really works, and more is gained and held.

Each session would focus on providing education and an experiential process though discussion and activities that can help you build stronger connections and navigate parenting

What are the themes that we can discuss during a Parent Connect Circle?

During the Parent Connect Circle we will discuss and express ourselves on various themes like emotions and emotional challenges, behaviours, distresses, thoughts that make parenting more difficult.

How long should I expect to be at a Parent Connect Circle meeting?

The average duration will be within 60 and 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours)

Do I have to talk a lot?

No, art therapy is not an art class.

Through creative techniques facilitated by an art therapist and a mental health professional (child and adolescent psychiatrist), you'll be navigating emotions and feelings that are difficult to express in words.

Are there areas that the Parent Connect Circle cannot cover?

We appreciate that at different stages you may need more support. The Parent Connect Circle is not an individual therapy session and each member’s time must be valued for the limitations of time and purpose of this group.

Should you need more support, the facilitators can direct you in this process.

Is there a cost for the session?

Yes, each session is QAR 350 per person
