About this event
The aim of the workshop is to empower parents/carers to advocate on behalf of their children with nystagmus to access educational support in school or early years setting. Parents will receive information on the rights of their children under the SEND Code of Practice, advice on how to access the full range of services available to visually impaired children and an explanation of the EHC plan application process.
This is an interactive session with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

The Nystagmus Network is a UK registered charity (Charity Commission number 1180450) supporting people affected by nystagmus in the UK. Nystagmus is a complex eye condition, characterised by involuntary movements of the eyes where they appear to wobble or flicker from side to side, up and down or round and round. The charity offers support and information to the 1 in 1,000 people at least who are affected by nystagmus, raises awareness of the condition and also fosters and funds research into the condition to find a potential treatment.
