Dear Parents! Welcome to our Parent Workshop on Fussy eating. In this workshop, you will learn why some children become fussy eaters and how eating is more than just chewing and swallowing. We will explore how posture, sensory differences, and step-by-step learning affect how children approach food. You will learn about the role of the senses; taste, smell, touch, and even sight and how sensitivities can make new foods feel overwhelming. We will look at the steps to eating, from tolerating food near them to touching, tasting, and finally eating. You will also learn simple strategies to make mealtimes calmer, such as keeping routines consistent, using positive language, and avoiding pressure. We will share playful food activities, ideas for introducing new foods gradually, and tips to manage “food jags.” By the end, you will leave with practical tools to help reduce stress and support more positive mealtimes.
