Dear Parents! Welcome to our Parent Workshop on Pre-Writing and Using Hands. In this session, you will learn why fine motor skills are so important for children’s everyday independence and future handwriting. Fine motor skills involve small, precise movements of the hands and fingers, which are needed for using cutlery, fastening clothes, holding a pencil, cutting with scissors, and playing with toys like Lego. We will explore the building blocks children need to develop these skills, including hand strength, coordination, posture, and attention. Together, we will try out practical, fun activities you can use at home, such as threading, playdough, drawing, and cutting games. We will also share sensory-based activities to make practice enjoyable and engaging. By the end, you will leave with simple strategies and playful ideas to support your child in becoming more confident with their hands and ready for writing.
