Parent Workshop - Understanding post-16 and post-18 options
Event Information
About this event
We at Form the Future know how difficult and challenging it can be to help your teenage child/ren when thinking about and planning their next steps in education or employment. We have designed a series of free virtual workshops to help parents and guardians support their children to make informed career and educational decisions and choose the best pathway for them.
The workshops provide information and practical tools as well as the opportunity to ask questions at the end with help from a qualified careers guidance professional.
Understanding post-16 and post-18 options
We’ll look at the different qualifications and pathway options that may be available to your child/ren, typically at the ages of 16 and 18. This will include:
- options at sixth form, college and university
- traineeships and apprenticeships
- A-Levels, T-Levels, Diplomas (e.g. BTEC and Cambridge Technicals), the International Baccalaureate (IB), degrees and more
- comparing different pathways.
Important information
This is the second workshop in a series of five free workshops, designed to support parents as they help their young people make decisions about their future pathway. Each event in the series will take place twice over the 12-month period from April 2022 to March 2023 and while you don't have to join every workshop, we highly recommend it. The workshops will be delivered virtually via Zoom.
