About this event
Are you a parent or carer? Looking to learn more about conflict resolution?
We have created a series of conflict resolution training based on our normal face to face training but adapted for an online event. Each session is 40 minutes long and this session 'Conflict Response Styles' explores how we respond to conflict situations and why. See below some information on the event, and if you sign up you will also be emailed a pre-event pack a couple of days prior to the event with all the information you will need.
Following the session, you will be able to:
- Recognise the different ways we respond to conflict
- Understand why we respond to conflict differently
- Self reflect on your own conflict response style
The session will be delivered on the online platform Zoom, by the SCCR mediator. If you book on to the session you will be sent the details on how to join nearer the time to the event when bookings have closed and a full PDF document with all the information you need to know will be emailed to you. This session is at an introductory level and no prior knowledge of the subject is required.
Please note Zoom offers video capability so you can join with your webcam on, but this is entirely up to you and this option can be turned off. However we would love to see your faces and feel it is a more interactive experience with videos on.

Part of Cyrenians, the Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) is a national resource promoting and supporting best practice in family conflict resolution, mediation and early intervention. Family relationship breakdown is one of the biggest causes of youth homelessness. Therefore, the focus of the centre is on young people and their families experiencing conflict which is affecting both their relationships and their lives. The SCCR is delivering a range of free events and resources, including a series of local seminars, national conferences across Scotland, free training sessions, and online resources for practitioners, young people and families. We acknowledge the support of the Scottish Government through a CYPFEIF and ALEC Fund Grant. Cyrenians is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), registered charity SC011052.
