Parents for Resilience
for anyone who is a parent, grandparent or carer of a child or young person
This is a workshop for anyone who is a parent, grandparent or carer of a child or young person who would like to know more about resilience. Whether you know nothing about it or you have been interested in it for ages there will be something for everyone. Resilience means bouncing back or forward from tough situations. It will be particularly useful for parents and carers of children who are struggling with their mental health or who have complex needs. The session is run by Boingboing as part of the Blackpool Headstart programme. It will introduce you to the idea of resilience and what we know from scientific evidence, as well as our shared experience, about what works in helping children and young people be resilient and cope better with difficult situations and times. We will also look at how we can be resilient ourselves, which helps us to support our children and young people.
The workshop will be delivered by Karin and Anne who are both parents themselves and have had lots of personal experience supporting children and young people with complex needs. Come and join us for what we promise will be a friendly, fun and motivating day!
If you want to discuss this workshop - if you want more details or to check whether it's right for you - ring Anne on 07495820028 or text and Anne will ring you back.
