Parish Safeguarding Officer Induction
T his course is suitable for all new Parish Safeguarding Officers and any PSOs who would like a refresher and/or to network with others. Training takes place in person at Flourish House, Wells and begins at 10am.
By the end of this pathway participants will be able to:
- Understand the role, responsibilities, and key working relationships of the Parish Safeguarding Officer, including the Local Authority, Diocesan Safeguarding Manager (DSM) and Parochial Church Council (PCC).
- Identify a variety of approaches to raising awareness and improving safeguarding practice.
- Evaluate safeguarding information reported by members of the church or community and determining an appropriate response.
- Utilise Parish Dashboards and use them to build development plans for safeguarding practice in their context
