Park House Charity Run & Fun Day

Park House School are continuing this Charity Run and Family Fun Day in association with Newbury Runners and the PHSA (Park House School Association) and with main sponsorship from local company Connect Electrical Wholesale.   It is our aim to bring together the local and wider community for a family event that will include many activities, with funds raised going to a local charity Daisy's Dream and the PHSA.  Over the last few years we have raised over £10,000 for our chosen charities.

200 metre Toddler Race

2k Childrens Race

5k Adults Race

10k Adults Race

Chip Timings - The 2k, 5k and 10k races will be chip timed, therefore immediate results.

The fete includes:

Bouncy Castles

Refreshments and snacks

BBQ provided by 1st Wash Common Scouts

Sports Zone

Go Karting

Football Tournament / 5 a-side football 

Stalls 

Central Arena

Dog Show

General FAQs

What are my parking options on the day? We are utilising the premises of Newbury Rugby Club for parking (top car park), however we would encourage local people to walk/cycle/run or jog!  There is a cycle shed on the school premises.

Can I contact the organiser with any questions? Please email any questions relating to the Run to mhayes@parkhouseschool.org or activities/stalls/table for the fun day to phsa@parkhouseschool.org (PHSA) and all other queries to events@parkhouseschool.org 

Race FAQs

Is it cheaper to purchase in advance? Yes.  The on the day pricing is 10k £15, 5k £10, 2k £5 and Toddler Dash remains £2

Do all runners need to register? Yes, regardless of age all runners need to register 

Can I walk the race? Yes 

Will my entry fee go towards any charities? Yes, funds raised throughout the day will support both the school (via the PHSA) and a local charity.

Is there a charge for paying online? Yes, there is a percentage contribution paid to Eventbrite & Credit Card Payment providers, however it is cheaper to pay in advance.

Is there an age limit to enter the event? We start with the Toddler race which is up to 6 year olds, with two categories 0-3 years and 3-6 years.  The childrens race will include 7 to age 16.  Any child under 6 would require an adult to run alongside them.

Please find below the current UKA Rules (207, 3) for the maximum distances to be run by particular age groups in Road Running events.

Over 11 –Under 13 – 5000 metres

Over 13 – Under 15 – 6000 metres

Aged 15 years – 10000 metres

Aged 16 years- 15000 metres

Aged 17 years – 25000 metres

Over 18 – Under 20 – Marathon

Seniors – Unlimited

Masters – Unlimited

Toddlers - our suggestion is that this will be at the disgretion of the parent.  Such runners should be accompanied by an adult.

Should I bring my ticket to the event? Yes you need to come to the registration tent with booking details (printed or on phone) so that you may be issued your runners number &/or chip timing.

I have not received a confirmation email? Check your spam/junk email. If nothing has been received email events@parkhouseschool.org and a confirmation will be mailed out to you.

What time are the races/should I arrive on the day? We advise arriving an hour before your race (except Toddler race where arrival is 9:15 for a 9:30 start), 2k starts 10:00 (be there for 9:00), 5k & 10k starts 11:00 (be there for 10:00 at latest)

Do we have a refund policy? As this is a charitable event, there will be no refunds available.

Can we enter the race on the day?  Yes please arrive at 9.00am to enable sufficient time for registration, however we cannot guarantee chip timings. It is also cheaper to register online in advance.

How can I find out my race timings - for 2k, 5k and 10k online bookings we will offer chip timings and thus results during the afternoon of the race. All race winners details will be shown on the Park House School website after the event and will aslo be available on the day via the chip timing website. 

Can I contact the race organiser with any questions? Any questions relating to the Run should be directed to mhayes@parkhouseschool.org 

Match Funding?  If your employer is part of the Match Funding Scheme, please ensure you confirm this on your booking form as this will enable greater funds to be raised for the chosen charities.
