About this event
An experience for creatives and the general public. The routes are relatively short, the emphasis being on the journey taken rather than the destination. A process of looking, listening, responding individually and collectively and sharing time together, uniquely designed and guided by a local creative.
meet 11am at Parkend Railway station, Parkend
it will last about an hour and a half
but its not about distance
as we sit and swap glimpses and moments
there will be drawing, story telling, map making and time to ponder
Lunch will be 1pm at the Cycle Centre Parkend when we will reflect on our journey, non walkers join us then.
numbers are limited so please book as soon as possible
Tickets are by donation. We are a not-for-profit organisation. All proceeds go towards funding for our activities and events, cultivating creative communities throughout the Forest of Dean.
A walk designed and guided by Sara Rickard. Sara has lived in the FoD for over 20 years, is a textile artist and educator and a member of the Canopy steering committee. A member of farOpen and the Embroiderers’ Guild Sara’s own work focusses on stitch, both by hand and machine and is greatly inspired by the beauty of the forest. www.sarajoyrickard.com
