Parkgate Primary School PINS Parent Engagement Event
Overview
About This Event
This is the second Parent Carer Engagement Event taking place at Parkgate Primary School as part of the PINS (Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools) project.
This session focuses on Sensory Wellbeing & Relaxation Strategies — exploring practical, everyday approaches that help neurodivergent children feel calmer, more comfortable, and better able to manage school and home life.
These events are designed to be warm, welcoming, and low-pressure. You are very welcome to join us exactly as you are.
What We’ll Explore Together
During this session, we’ll look at:
- How sensory needs show up in everyday life
- Practical ways to support sensory wellbeing at home and in school
- Relaxation and calming strategies that help with regulation
- What makes sensory experiences harder — and what helps ease overwhelm
- Themes already shared by Parkgate families in Event 1
We’ll build on the conversations from the first event to deepen our understanding of what’s going well, what still feels difficult, and how we can work together to support inclusion across the school community.
What to Expect
- A friendly introduction from school and the Parent Carer Forum
- A quiet, comfortable parent-only space at the start, so everyone can settle and speak freely
- Gentle group discussion, with no pressure to share
- Simple, useful take-away ideas and sensory strategies
- Space to ask questions and connect with other parent carers
- Refreshments provided
We’ll do everything we can to keep the space private, calm, and uninterrupted, as many parent carers have told us this helps them feel safe enough to take part.
Who Can Attend?
This event is open to all parent carers of children at Parkgate Primary School.
You do not need to have attended the first event — you’re warmly welcome to join at any point.
Access Needs
We want this event to be fully accessible.
If you have any access needs — including interpreters, sensory considerations, or anything that would help you join comfortably — please let us know when you book.
