Description

Parkinson’s is a complex brain disorder that destroys movement and motivation of 1 in every 350 people. Parkinson’s in Movies looks at people with this very individual and ever worsening condition who feature in films and documentaries, in cinemas and on TV, as actors and actresses, entertainers, comedians, directors. We aim to raise awareness of the challenges facing people with Parkinson’s and to provide a free source of information for anyone who is interested.

The first film is CAPTURING GRACE (2014 - PG) in which Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker Dave Iverson explores the transformative effects of dance on people with Parkinson's. It will be shown on Friday 22 November at 11am in The Box on the top floor of QUAD in Derby. Doors open at 10.30, the film lasts 60 minutes and you are welcome to stay until doors close at 1.30. Places are free for all and can be reserved on a first come first served basis at www.eventbrite.co.uk - Please register one person per ticket. No admission without registration. Please let us know if you require a wheelchair or other equipment to be provided.

A second Parkinson’s in Movies event will take place at 11am on Friday 21 February 2020. Places can be reserved from Wednesday 1 January 2020 onwards.
