About this event

The Exercise's Hub's annual study day is once again returning to provide opportunities to come together to learn, share and network on what will be an energising and interactive day.

This year, the theme of the day will be to consider exercise prescription for people with different phenotypes of Parkinson’s, including those diagnosed as young onset. We will balance theory with practice as we spend time learning about the specific pathology and treatment of this cohort before breaking out into groups to look at case studies and share ideas on exercise prescription.

We are pleased to welcome back some exercise supplier companies who will be sponsoring the day and exhibiting their products so that you can pick up ideas for treatment. Later on, there will also be the opportunity to hear about their equipment in our (always a laugh!) 'Dragons Den' session.

Finally, we will be celebrating 10 years of the Exercise Hub this year and looking back at all that we've achieved over the last decade as well as looking forward to what might be next for our community of professionals so make sure you book your ticket to ensure you're there to hear more!

By the end of the study day, attendees will be able to:

  • Deepen their understanding of the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of specific Parkinson’s phenotypes, and apply this knowledge to exercise planning and delivery.
  • Recognise and respond to the unique challenges and lifestyle considerations associated with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD), when prescribing exercise.
  • Collaborate with peers in practical, case-based discussions to expand the range of exercise approaches and modalities suitable for different presentations of Parkinson’s.
  • Explore current innovations and technological tools that support exercise engagement and self-management for people living with Parkinson’s.
  • Have knowledge of the latest product updates and developments by speaking to several device and app companies at an exhibition symposium during lunch time, as well as hearing from the companies about how their products could make a difference for people with Parkinson's.

The full agenda will be shared closer to the event.
