Organised by St Helens Borough Coucil, this community event offers a unique opportunity to walk, jog, or run the full 2-kilometre stretch of road - completely traffic-free, before it opens to vehicles later in May. Goodies are on offer for those who take part.
This fun event is for all abilities, you can take part with friends and family and run or walk round the tree-lined, undulating route. It provides a great chance for local people to see firsthand, the scale of investment that's gone into transforming connectivity in Newton-le-Willows and the wider borough.
With parking unavailable at the site, participants are encouraged to walk to the event if possible, via Mill Lane/Winwick Road A49.
A small shuttle bus service will also be in operation. Pickup locations are as follows:
- Earlestown Bus Station 11:10 / 11:15 / 11:20 / 11:25
- Newton-le-Willows Health & Fitness 11:20 / 11:25 / 11:30 / 11:35
- High Street/Rob Lane Bus Stop (near to Jump Pad Estate Agents, 34-34a High St, Newton-le-Willows, WA12 9SN) 11:25 / 11:30 / 11:35 / 11:40
- Newton-le-Willows Train Station 11:30 / 11:35 / 11:40 / 11:45
- Drop off at Parkside Link Road Entrance (West)
The shuttle buses will also provide a return service to the above locations, leaving the event at 13:30 / 13:40 / 13:50 / 14:00
