Event description

Description

Are you worried about over-scheduled children? Do you believe that kids should be kids?

Nowadays children have more and more of their 'free time' structured and supervised by adults. How then do children explore and discover the world on their own terms, learn how to take risks and make decisions for themselves, think, dream and generally enjoy their childhood?

PARS playwork practitioners work with children in a wide range of supervised settings, from parks to prisons and from after school clubs to hospitals (parents also welcome!). Based on the original philosophy of the UK adventure playground pioneers, the PARS model of playwork practice provides adults with practical tools to help children to enjoy their supervised leisure time on their own terms, and enables practitioners to explain how and why their playwork practice differs from other approaches to working with children.

Join our second PARS Masterclass in Cambridge to learn how to apply the PARS model of playwork practice at work and at home.

Please note that this PARS MasterClass takes place over three Saturdays: 20th January, 27th January & 3rd February 2018.

For more information about PARS playwork training, see www.commonthreads.org.uk.
