Part of Us is a student-lead initiative to provide a platform for our creative community and friends wishing to help refugee causes and awareness.
As arts and design students, we know that at UAL, in London and across the globe we have masses of creative problem solving ability at our disposal. This made us want to look at ways of offering alternate methods of aid besides financial donations and physical volunteering. In response to this we have looked at ways in which we may play to the strengths of our community.
In a one-off event inside Central Saint Martins School of Arts & Design, student, staff and alumni will be showcased and auctioned alongside donated pledges. We shall be supporting existing Charities in Calais and Europe helping refugees with basic survival, thereapuetic and legal aid.
As well as this we are launching a long-term collaborative project with Young Roots Croyden youth group and participating artists that will finalise in a large scale Artwork to be publicly exhibited.
On April 25th these goals shall be realised with an exhibition of displaced artists and arts participators work celebrating the strength and power of humanity through their Arts alongside our auction of works.
Celebrating together the importance and all enduring continuation of Arts role in society when faced with inhumane situations.
