Meridian Raw CIC

Meridian Raw CIC is a social enterprise that uses photography as an empowerment tool for marginalised communities and socially excluded individuals. We help to bring about social change and advocacy through creative participatory photography workshops and participatory photography training. To achieve this, we place the camera in the hands of the user and provide them with the opportunity to create a photo-stories or themes that are personal, self-reflective or that highlight issues that affect them directly or that can affect their community. We also provide training to organisations and individuals who want to deliver their own participatory photography projects to their clients and their communities.

Our Vision

To provide a voice for people who are socially excluded and for communities that are marginalised and to help individuals to share their stories to a wider audience.

Our Mission

To develop empowerment platforms for underprivileged communities and socially excluded individuals by using creative participatory photography techniques and facilitate photographic narratives that can provide opportunities for social change, advocacy and self-representation. To work in collaboration with charities, NGOs and community organisations to provide bespoke participatory photography workshops that work as an empowerment tool for participants. This form of photography workshops can also provide an opportunity for self-reflection, highlight the need for social change and can provide a platform for advocacy.
