Pas de Deux Master Class

Come join us for an exciting in-person event at Acosta Dance Centre .

This Ballet Master class is perfect for dancers looking to enhance their pas de deux skills or trying for the first time. We will learn a section from Sleeping Beauty 3rd Act ( Aurora's Wedding ) . The teachers will share the skills of how to dance with a partner and refine your technique in a supportive environment. A great opportunity to elevate your dance abilities and connect with others dancers.

We wont have a warm up before, so we go straight to the pas de deux this time.

This class is usually sold out so make sure you have your spot before.

Suggested level : General Level- non professional and professionals welcome!

Meet the Teachers !

  • Giovanna Lamboglia

Giovanna began her training in Brazil at 9 years old and moved to Rio de Janeiro to attended the Maria Olenewa State Dance School (Municipal Ballet of Rio de Janeiro affiliated School), based on Vaganova Methodology. She graduated in 2014 and performed with the Company in Coppelia and Nutcraker productions. She was awarded First Place and Best dancer in National competitions. She has competed in and placed in numerous International Competitions including American Dance Competition 2015, USA (Top 15 with Variation and Highest Score with Pas Deux); 7th Helsinki International Ballet Competition 2012,Finland; Youth America Grand Prix NYC Finals 2013, USA; Silver Medal at the International Dance Seminar In Brasilia, 2011,Brazil.

In 2015 she got a soloist contract to dance with Ballets de France in Toulouse, France.

She moved to Canada in 2016 to be a Soloist Dancer with Canada´s Ballet Jörgen. In Toronto she also had the pleasure to work with Evelyn Hart in her own group and with teachers and choreographers of National Ballet of Canada.

Giovanna secured a scholarship to complete her American Ballet Theatre National Teaching Curriculum provided by YUMIKO dancewear and has since been teaching in Canada, Brazil and England, and leading international masterclasses for students across the world, from France to India. Giovanna is now based in London where she is a freelance dancer and teacher where she teaches at Danceworks , London Ballet Classes and Cit Lit . She holds a degree for Cultural Production and is also a founder of Dance Connections Agency where she help dancers to achieve their dreams in the dance industry. She was guest artist doing the role of Clara from 2018-2025 with Symphony of Halifax in Canada .

Acaoã de Castro
Born in Brazil, he started his studies at the age of six and graduated from Hellô Ballet, led by Heloísa Randis, as well as from Especial Academia under the guidance of Guivalde de Almeida and Jorge Peña. He was a member of the São Paulo Companhia de Dança from 2011 to 2013, under the direction of Iracity Cardoso. and Inês Bogéa. In 2014, he became a member of the Ballet Nacional del SODRE under the direction of Julio Bocca, participating in both national and international tours. In 2023, he joined Ballet Black as a Senior Artist. His repertoire includes works by renowned choreographers such as Kenneth Macmillan, Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato, Anne-Marie Holmes, John Cranko, Natalia Makarova, Mario Galizzi, Jiří Kylian, William Forsythe, Demis Volpi, Marcia Haydée, Gemma, and George Balanchine. Alongside his performance career, he also teaches and holds rehearsals at various schools in Brazil.
