Event description

1963 Gallery is very proud to present their next group show “Past, Present, Future”

celebrating their one year anniversary at Swordtail Studios in Haggerston.

Swordtail Studios is an underground and unique industrial space in the heart of east

London. The space carries a rare feeling, almost evoking the sentiment of one being in a

time machine, warping you into another world and bringing you a deep and earnest

This group show continues the newly opened chapter after leaving their first permanent

space in Dalston, pursuing the idea of a constantly moving gallery, they will look for

alternative spaces which breed creativity and reflect the dynamism of the city.

Ema Marinova, the curator and founder of 1963 Gallery London, will not comment on a

social issue. She will not reflect on styles, aesthetic concepts or creative movements. She

will celebrate the gallery’s relationships, personal vision and future intentions.

Commitment, trust and freedom is what the curator wants to bring to the table when it

comes to her artists and shows. Therefore the aim is to inflict a certain form spiritual and

intellectual liberation within every project.

1963 Gallery are delighted to celebrate their birthday with a set of truly talented and

diverse artists. Introducing - Pang, Skan, Cityzenkane, Stefano Ronchi, Pakal, Alaniz,

Oko, Hin, Gabriela Bodin, Helen Bur, Wasp Elder, Olivia Descampe, Diego Zelaya and

Otto Schade.

“As 1963 Gallery turns one year we would like to praise all the beautiful and talented

souls we have worked with and commence the following journey with old friends and new.

This show represents the personal approach we have taken towards every single project,

every single artist we have collaborated with and every single step of our journey from the

Past, Present and to the Future.”
