Programme Content:

The work of Pastoral Leaders is vital to the success in delivering the desired outcomes for young people. It is vital therefore, that our Pastoral Leaders are equipped with suitable experience, skills, attributes, and that they receive excellent training and development. The Pastoral Leader Development Programme (PLDP) is designed to offer aspiring or new-to-role Pastoral Leaders the opportunity for high quality, personalised development and professional learning opportunities.

Training Overview:

The training programme consists of approximately 15 learning hours spread out across an academic year. The programme consists of 7 training seminars, professional learning e.g. reading and an action research project over the lifetime of the course. Cohorts will typically consist of trainees from within and outside of Maiden Erlegh Trust.

Pastoral Leader Seminars:

  • Seminar 1: The Core Principles of Ethical Leadership and Integrity
  • Seminar 2: Developing a Culture of Safeguarding and Student Welfare
  • Seminar 3: Leading Change and Effective Project Management
  • Seminar 4: Quality Assurance from Above and Below
  • Seminar 5: Managing Stakeholders and Problem Solving
  • Seminar 6: Managing Behaviour Escalation
  • Seminar 7: Securing your first Pastoral Leadership Post

The first training seminar will be held on Tuesday 07 November 2023 from 3:30pm until 4:30pm. The other six training seminars are spread out across the academic year and will be sent to you as a list of Teams invites upon sign up.

Payment

Payment is required at the time of booking by credit card, debit card or PayPal. Unless otherwise stated, a ticket gives admission to one person at face-to-face and online events. If you arrive at the event without a ticket, you will be required to book and pay for your place on Eventbrite again at the venue.

Refunds

Tickets are not transferable or refundable.

In the event of a refund request due to exceptional circumstances, please note that the Eventbrite booking fee of 6.95% plus 0.59p per ticket is not refundable.

To keep our event fees as low as possible, we are not able to issue invoices for payment by cheque or bank transfer and we are not able to reserve places without payment.

We strongly recommend that you take out 'event ticket insurance' which may cover the cost of your fee should you be unable to attend the event.
