About Pathfinders

Pathfinders Ensemble is part of our Waltham Forest Satellite Music School and takes place on Tuesdays from 4.15-5.15pm at Chingford C of E Infant site.

This is a new ensemble which is an exciting, creative and explorative group open to young people aged between 8-12 who learn an instrument or have vocal lessons.

At the group we don't follow convention, we will take inspiration from a variety of sources to create new music and sounds in our own way. Each session is a unique experience!

All instruments and vocalists are welcome, we have limited instruments to use at the school so please bring your own instrument if you can.

At the end of term we usually invite family and friends to a sharing session or concert so they can hear our amazing new music!

Fees

The Pathfinders membership fee for the academic year 2023-24 is £36 per term or £18 for families on a low income.

For this fee, young people can join one or more groups run by Waltham Forest Music Service, including Pathfinders in Chingford as well as groups held at our main Music School held at Walthamstow School for Girls.

Dates

There are 10 sessions on Tuesdays each term:

• Autumn 1st half term: 26th September, 3rd, 10th, 17th October
• Autumn 2nd half term: 31st October, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, November, 5th December

• Spring 1st half term: 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th January, 6th February
• Spring 2nd half term: 20th, 27th February, 4th, 12th, 19th March

• Summer 1st half term: 23rd, 30th April, 7th, 14th, 21st May
• Summer 2nd half term: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th June, 2nd July

Music School behaviour policy

All pupils attending Music School groups and lessons are expected to follow the standards set out in the behaviour policy.
