Breakspear Medical and the Environmental Medicine Foundation
The Environmental Medicine Foundation (formerly Breakspear Hospital Trust) was set up by caring supporters of the Breakspear Medical Group who all had some connection to the clinic as either patients or relatives of patients. Breakspear Medical is a private facility that opened in 1982 and has treated over 30,000 patients suffering from food, chemical and other environmental allergies and sensitivities.
Breakspear Medical specialises in the treatment of allergy and environmental illness, and provides investigation and treatments for a wide range of conditions ranging from food allergy and intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome, migraine, asthma, eczema and rhinitis, to many other conditions, such as ME/chronic fatigue syndrome and to autoimmune conditions such as arthritis and multiple sclerosis. Patients who have any medical condition may be seen. Any who require other specialist referral such as for scanning will be appropriately referred for these tests and opinions.
Breakspear Medical is located in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, and is a registered clinic (registration number C010000662) with the Care Quality Commission, which is the health and social care regulator for England. View our latest report at www.cqc.org.uk.

There are over 50 dedicated staff members including fully qualified doctors, nurses, accountants, laboratory technicians, nutritional consultants and administrative staff. The clinic has earned a global reputation for its contribution to the field of environmental medicine.
The facilities have a Manufacturer's 'Specials' Licence (no.: ML11902) through the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency for the manufacture of our allergy vaccines in our Antigen Laboratory (www.mhra.gov.uk).
