DESCRIPTION

Kirklees Council Prevent Team are holding a half day workshop to raise awareness around the harmful impact of extremism, develop resilience to challenge extremist narratives and equip participants with ideas and resources to continue to safeguard against vulnerabilities which are associated with radicalisation.

Featuring PATHWAYS, this unique, interactive, theatre – based workshop is aimed at professionals who work across sectors with individuals who may be vulnerable to radicalisation, whether they are adults, children or young people.

After completing this workshop you should:

  • Understand what Extremism and Radicalisation are and why it is important to discuss and address these issues
  • Know the main elements of the Prevent strand of the government's CONTEST strategy
  • Better understand what makes people vulnerable to radicalisation
  • Know your responsibilities and recognise indicators that radicalisation might be taking place
  • Gain knowledge around the support and guidance available in Kirklees
