Pathways to Prosperity: Places, Spaces and Graces
Tue 24 January 2017, 09:00 – 13:00 GMT
Join us for this inspiring half-day seminar exploring how we can generate prosperity more effectively and sustainably while retaining, and indeed enhancing, our humanity. We will do this through examining three complementary themes that are coming to the fore in discussions about economic development. First of all, Iain Scott of CAN DO Places will explain the importance of place-based entrepreneurship in ensuring truly sustainable local economies. CAN DO Places is an initiative working with local groups who are passionate about restoring life to underused places and spaces in their communities. Next, social entrepreneur Claire Carpenter will talk about the value of co-working spaces in helping to breed a stronger culture of entrepreneurship. This is based on her own experience of founding The Melting Pot, the renowned social innovation hub where our event takes place. Finally, Alan Meldrum of Percepta will speak from his own experience about strengthening staff engagement, client satisfaction and brand loyalty through strong corporate values. Percepta is the Glasgow-based customer experience arm of Ford Motor Company.
NB: Event starts 09:30 with registration/tea and coffee from 09:00
