Overview

This course is suitable for practice managers, clinicians, and service leads.

In a healthcare system where waiting lists are long and treatment delays are common, we are observing an increase in challenging patient complaints. Research indicates that patient burnout can be a significant factor contributing to these complaints. Patient burnout refers to the mental, emotional, and sometimes physical exhaustion that patients experience. This condition can arise when patients require frequent advice, updates, and engagement related to their health, especially when these interactions are prolonged or involve complex medical issues. When patients experience burnout, it often leads to poor engagement and can increase safety risks for patients.

However, these risks can be managed, and practice team leaders play a crucial role in raising awareness among their teams about the various contact points they have with patients. These interactions can serve as opportunities to enhance communication.

This 3 hour zoom course will use case examples to highlight:

- The key risks associated with communication touchpoints to simplify care management plans for patients

- Ways to improve access to advice for patients

- Strategies to promote effective communication

This course is suitable for practice managers, clinicians, and service leads.
