About this Event
“Healing the healthcare system”
The NHS is in crisis with record demand and care services are at breaking point. But what if the solution to rescuing the NHS is in the hands of the patients themselves?
Join David Gilbert (Patient Director, Sussex MSK Partnership and author of ‘The Patient Revolution’) and Meera Kapadia (Darzi Fellow and Quality Improvement Coach), people who understand, first-hand, the pivotal importance of patients as genuine decision-making leaders who can change the future of healthcare.
In this practical workshop we will explore:
What is Patient Leadership?
Hear powerful real-life stories of 'patient leaders' ordinary people affected by life-changing illnesses, disabilities, or conditions, who have all gone back into the fray to help change the healthcare system in necessary and inspiring ways.
What is co-production?
How as citizens we can influence the support and services we receive, or get together to influence the way that services are designed, commissioned and delivered.
How community Quality Improvement Coaches can revolutionize improvement in healthcare?
Turning improvement on it’s head! With communities setting the agenda for changes they would like to see in primary care and getting directly involved in co-coaching teams through their improvement work.
This event is hosted by EQUIP (Enabling Quality Improvement in Practice) and is free to attend for Tower Hamlets citizens and staff.
