Patient Participation Group (PPG) Network's Hosted Event
The Patient Participation Group (PPG) Network are hosting an event this Thursday 15th December from 2- 4.30pm in The Auditorium, The Brighthelm Centre. All are welcome.
The PPG Network meets quarterly and is chaired by Mike Holdgate, The CCG Governing Body Lay Member for Patient Public Participation. The Network has representatives from each established surgery PPG.
This is the first hosted event by the Network, and they have sourced two very interesting speakers to attend:
Firstly Richard Beard, the Head of Communication and Engagement from Brighton Sussex University Hospital Trust, who will talk about the exciting 3T (Teaching, Tertiary and Trauma) developments which are taking place at the hospital. He is planning to bring a model of the new building along.
Secondly we have a speaker from the Kent Sussex Surrey Air Ambulance, who will talk about the plans for how the air ambulance will utilise the new helipad being built at the hospital.
There will also be lots of networking opportunities to Network at the event.
Please come along to show support for PPGs but also to hear about the exciting developments for our local services.
Every GP surgery are now contractually required to have a PPG and exciting work has been taking place across the city to help establish these patient groups.
PPGs can be of real service to practices with the right combination of patient assets. Here are just a few things PPGs can and have been doing across Brighton and Hove:
- • Help organise health promotion information and events
- • Help practices link to local groups and communities – delivering key messages
- • Help raise money to buy new equipment for the practice
- • Help develop a network of support for your patients and their carers
- • Start a Facebook Page for PPG members or run their own PPG Group website for the Surgery.
