Pattern Drafting & Cutting (Womenswear)
This course is ideal for learners who already have a sewing background and have used commercial or shop bought patterns to make garments. This course will support learners when drafting a block and dress pattern from scratch and will provide learners with the opportunity to see it realised in a finished garment.
This course will be delivered over nine sessions (with an Easter break of one week) and will require a little private sewing work in between the sessions. The course will guide learners through measuring, drafting, fittings, alterations, layplanning, cutting and assembly. By the end of the course, delegates will have worked through approaches to skirts, dresses and bodices/tops.
Sessions are flexible and can be tailored / adjusted to meet the needs of learners. Sessions are designed to be creative, inspiring and supportive and will provide a stimulating environment in which to develop dress making skills.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This course is designed for age 16 and above.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Bus services run regularly in the area. However, the Sheffield tram service does not run in this area. The venue has a medium sized carpark which is free of charge to use and the surrounding streets also have parking available.
What can I bring into the event?
- Tape measure
- Pencils HB and coloured
- 30cm Ruler
- Large Set square
- Rubber & Sharpener
- Paper scissors
- A roll of masking tape
- Meter rule (if you have one)
- Note Book

What's the refund policy?
Tickets are 100% refundable up to one week prior to the event start date. Any cancellations on, or after, the 15th March 2017 will only be refunded at 50% of the value. However, tickets are transferrable and can be used by somebody else if you prefer to give it to a friend.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Yes. If you are suddenly unable to attend the course, your course ticket can be used by somebody else instead and you will be responsible for retrieving any incurred costs from the new buyer.
