About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

BASC invites you to join them for a Patterning event at Mid Norfolk Shooting Ground on 5 September

The aim of this event is to ensure that you are well-informed and that your gun, choke, and cartridge choices are appropriate for your intended quarry.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a team member who will inspect your gun to ensure it is suitable for steel shot. You will then receive a briefing on the various types of cartridges available, including information on different wadding systems.

Additionally, you will get an update on the UK reach process and have the opportunity to have any questions you may have answered.

Following the briefing, you will be taken to the pattern plate area where you will fire several shots through each barrel, checking pattern densities in accordance with best practices.

After shooting, you are invited to return for further discussions about the cartridges you used. Sessions should take no longer than one hour.

The cost for this event is £35 for BASC members, subsidized as a member benefit. If you are not a BASC member but would like to participate, please Join – BASC.

Membership is £95 per year (or just £9 per month) and provides access to all the benefits of BASC membership, including events and courses.

Please note that attendees must be 15 years of age or older.

Please make sure to bring your shotgun, certificate, and eye and hearing protection with you on the day. Guns must be nitro proof, have chambers of 65mm or longer, be choked half or less, and be either 12 or 20 bore.
