About this event
A short, illustrated 'behind the scenes' talk by professional cartoonist 'Polyp', revealing what goes into creating one of his climate cartoons, exploring:
- what's effective and what isn't in terms of communication
- how the artwork is constructed
- how to write effective dialogue
- use facial expressions
- comic timing and body language in your art
- simple mistakes to avoid
Followed by a hands on workshop session helping aspiring artists create your very own climate cartoon!
Bring an idea or joke you'd like to turn into a cartoon, and your favourite drawing equipment - could be pencils, a laptop, ink, felt tips. Basic art materials will also be supplied at the workshop.

Enormous thanks go out to all our festival supporters, partners, and funders. Without their contributions, the festival would not take place. It is a FREE festival, with only a few paid for events. Making it as accessible to as many people as possible. It costs in the region of 100K to put on the festival and the following partners and funders have all contributed to make this festival happen. Thank you.
