Paul Stephenson Lecture 2025: A Fireside Chat with Dame Elizabeth Anionwu

Icon. Trailblazer. Dame Elizabeth Anionwu.

Join us on Wednesday 12 November 2025 at Eversheds Sutherland, London, for the Paul Stephenson Lecture 2025, an evening celebrating courage, resilience and change.

This year’s guest is Professor Dame Elizabeth Anionwu OM DBE FRCN FQICN, one of the UK’s greatest nurses and a pioneer in sickle cell and thalassaemia care. In an intimate fireside chat with Lopa Patel MBE, Dame Elizabeth will share her extraordinary journey - from a childhood in care to becoming the UK’s first sickle cell nurse specialist, championing health equality, honouring Mary Seacole’s legacy and carrying the Sovereign’s Orb at the Coronation of King Charles III.

Expect candid reflections on resilience, belonging, racism, and what still drives her today.

Your ticket includes networking drinks, canapés and a signed copy of her inspiring memoir Dreams from My Mother.

Spaces are limited so book now to be part of an unforgettable evening with a true icon.
