Event description
Pauline Lee - Revisiting Infantile sexuality in the nursery.

About this event

In-person event, limited to 40 people at the Constitutional Club in Farsley

The development of our sexuality starts in infancy, in the context of our primary relationships and yet this is rarely discussed or thought about in our services supporting babies and their parents. And what does this mean for adult sexuality?

Dr Pauline Lee will share with us her paper highlighting the importance of infantile sexuality, in the context of her clinical work within a Parent Infant service. Following Pauline's paper we will be hearing from Sarah Greaves who will discuss her art work rooted in the psychological experience of the transition to motherhood. The event is chaired by Jane Turner.

Dr Pauline Lee is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst. She has worked for over 15 years in perinatal and parent infant mental health in the NHS. She developed the Tameside and Glossop Early Attachment Service based on a psychoanalytic model which is now being replicated in 9 other boroughs across Greater Manchester (GM). She is currently the GM Lead for Parent Infant Mental Health and also works in private practice.

Sarah Greaves is an award winning visual artist and Art Psychotherapist. Greaves' artwork has been exhibited extensively across the UK, awarded Arts Council funding and has received international press and publicity including two interviews on BBC Radio 4. Her work has been published in various international books and journals.

Jane Turner is a Psychoanalytic Child Psychotherapist who has specialised in working with parents and infants. She currently works as a Parent infant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in the South West Yorkshire Trust Perinatal mental health service.
