About the Workshop

Join botanical artist Bee Watson at Hamilton House for a cosy morning of paper flower making and tea drinking. Learn to make a beautiful handcrafted paper peony in a friendly, welcoming class suitable for people of all creative abilities.

We're delighted to be able to offer this class on a pay-what-you-can basis after receiving funding from School For Social Entrepreneurs to help us continue our work to strengthen the link between craft and wellbeing. £5 from every ticket will be donated to The Blurt Foundation to do incredible work to increase awareness and understanding of depression.

We invite you to take this time for yourself; pop aside your daily commitments and put you at the top of your priority list for a couple of hours to enjoy a creative activity, connect with others and learn a new skill.

You'll find us in the Community Arts Space. All equipment, materials and refreshments included.

Pay-What-You-Can

You are welcome to pay-what-you-can between the minimum donation of £5 and the full ticket price of £35 to attend this class.

This payment structure is designed to make our classes accessible to a wider audience, so that more people can experience the benefits of crafting for wellbeing.

The price you choose to pay is private and completely up to you. Any amounts above the minimum donation are 'paid forward' to cover the costs of running future classes using this model.

Craft and Wellbeing

Mental health, much like our physical health, is something we all have in varying degrees of wellness throughout our lives. It is something we have to learn to make time for and nurture, which we know from experience isn't always the easiest thing to do.

Crafting together is known to increase mental health resilience; reduce stress, anxiety and depression. With this in mind, we're using our craft to hold safe, informal, creative space for people to enjoy however they are feeling - whether you are well versed in the art of self care or just starting out on your journey.
