About this event
Join PCP in collaboration with Future Makers and Igloo Regeneration showcasing how single-use plastics can be transformed into beautiful, lasting assets that will enrich your spaces and communities.
Starting with a brew and a pastry then join us as we enter the Future Makers factory based in Nottingham for an experience that we hope will be unforgettable as you learn and think about what you do with your single-use plastics both onsite and in your offices.
We will hear from the visionary founder behind Future Makers Tristan Hessing setting the scene of the organisation, hearing how they are revolutionising plastic recycling, bringing creativity and innovation to craft projects in sustainable art, design and education.
Future Makers mission is to empower partners to lead in sustainability, by turning plastic waste into valuable, artistic assets. As a creative hub, they nurture collaboration and innovation amongst artists, designers and makers, celebrating diversity and unique perspectives.
This will follow with a factory tour and demo so a chance to see the operation first hand!
We will then have an opportunity for a Product Showcase Expo seeing all that they can offer which will include planters, interior furnishings, art, surfaces and cladding to name but a few.
Tristan and Gill will also be on hand to discuss how they can collaborate with your business, get that early engagement, speak about examples of the social benefits, working with schools, plastic recycling projects, case studies of how they are working with the Property and Construction sectors, packages of workflows and waste design.
After a quick comfort break we will then take the short 10-minute walk over to Nottingham Trent Basin where we will see firsthand an example of their work that they have done in partnership with Igloo Regeneration in the form of a FM Circular Bike Store V1 and FM Planter System which were transformed using reclaimed timber and recycled plastics. We might even get a peek of the Bridge currently being installed on the site too!!
More information about the project can be found here - https://www.future-makers.co.uk/news/circular-bike-storage-modular-planters
The day will conclude with the short walk back, and a chance to grab another brew, and network with your peers and colleagues whilst having another opportunity to see anything you missed and speak with those from Future Makers directly.
A fabulous opportunity to think about ways to work towards NetZero and what to do with your waste materials!
