Port Communities Resilience Fund Community Facilities Grant Scheme

Information events

A competitive grants scheme for the Community Facilities element of the fund will open 4th September 2017. A total of £315,000 is being made available to community groups in Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston. The scheme will provide grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 to support capital improvements to buildings or to buy equipment. Applicants will be asked to show how their projects will strengthen their organisations for the future and improve the levels of support they can deliver to their communities.

Applicants will also be asked to double the value of whatever grant amount they ask for from the fund. They can do that with match funding, with in-kind funding (such as contributions in kind or at cost), with volunteer input and with revenue spend in the three years after they’ve completed the project. The aim of the Fund is to boost longer –term income and increased service delivery in the Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston ward. Due to the restrictions of the PCRF the fund can only be used towards capital costs of improvements and/or equipment. The fund cannot pay for salaries, running costs or other revenue costs.

To help community organisations put together good quality proposals three Information events are being organised. These events are open to any organisation interested in bidding for money from the Community Facilities Grant fund.

The event will consist of a Pro Contract presentation given by BCC Comercial Development Manager, an introduction to the grant application form and a Q&A session.
