Event Details

This short-course qualification really gets to the heart of how to work well with children, teenagers and young adults who have Pathological Demand Avoidance syndrome.

The qualification validates and extends the work being done by countless numbers of families and people in the education system.

- Level 2 qualification (Introductory)

       - Accredited by OCN London RQF

The programme is in four learning outcomes, each of which have assessment criteria to be provided as evidence.

- Understand the meaning of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

- Understand the impact PDA has on a child, teenager or young adult and how they might be supported.

- Understand the key principles of positive behaviour management when working with children, teenagers and young adults with PDA.

- Understand the effects that PDA has on learning and how to reduce the impact of this.

Achieve this qualification through a full day of guided learning, all with full tutor support, guidance and feedback.

During the day you are required to complete sections of the workbook, which forms a major part of the assessment.

See the course learning outcomes here.

Trainer

The trainer for this programme is Laura Kerbey. Laura is an Autism expert, she works extensively with children, parents, teachers and support staff, to make genuinely positive differences for people whose lives are affected by Autism.

Laura wrote this programme as she believes it is part of the behaviour associated with Autism which is misunderstood, and usual strategies for behaviour associated with Autism will not have the best effect.

Fees include all course resources and accreditation fees. You'll also meet like-minded people and can share ideas and resources with them, too. Not forgetting the luxury of refreshments all day and lunch.

Bookings can be made directly through Eventbrite or by contacting info@can-do-courses.co.uk.

Can Do Courses is an OCN London registered centre.

We look forward to welcoming you to the programme.
