Overview

When our child is PDA, reducing demand can make a huge difference to calming situations. Lets learn how to do this even in tricky moments

When our child has Pathological Demand Avoidance, PDA, how we ask them to do the simplest thing can cause them HUGE difficulty as they simply "cant" do this in that moment. Often this triggers difficult behaviour but this isnt a choice but how their brain is responding.

Parent positive speaker Britt Whitcombe is back to explain what is happening for them and how we can use a different way of asking to make situations calmer for our child, for us and for the whole family.

Pinpoint are the OFFICIAL Parent Carer Forum for Cambridgeshire providing help and information to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities in Cambridgeshire.

Pinpoint have a dedicated part time staff team of SEND parent carers offering signposting and events for all things SEND and opportunities for parents to have a say and get involved in improving local services.

No formal diagnosis is required to access support from Pinpoint – a child may be on a waiting list, accessing services, had a referral turned down, or just be struggling.

You will be sent an email containing the link to access the session 2 days before, 2 hours before and at the start of the session. Please do check your junk mail and spam folders as these emails sometimes end up there!

Be comfortable at Pinpoint sessions - You can keep your camera off and stay on mute and simply join us and other parent carers who “get it” from your sofa 😊
